On 16 April 2026, the Black Energy Professionals Association (BEPA) hosted a meaningful Celebratory Engagement at Ga Mahlako in honour of Mameetse Masemola, Head of Infrastructure South Africa, recognising her contribution and leadership within South Africa’s infrastructure landscape. The event was positioned to formally honour her leadership in advancing strategic national infrastructure outcomes.

In her role as Head of Infrastructure South Africa, Mameetse Masemola provides strategic leadership in advancing South Africa’s national infrastructure development agenda. Her responsibilities include shaping and overseeing the country’s infrastructure strategy, supporting policy and legislative development, helping to close the infrastructure investment gap, overseeing nationally strategic infrastructure projects and programmes, and strengthening coordination across government, state-owned entities, and key public sector institutions.

The engagement brought together senior stakeholders from across the infrastructure ecosystem. Based on the formal programme and confirmed participation, key stakeholders included Meta Mhlarhi, BEPA Co-Founder and Chairperson; Adv. Melanchton Makobe, Acting Director-General of the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation; Nina Yose, Divisional Executive: Mining, Metal and Infrastructure at the Industrial Development Corporation; Nombulelo Nyathela, Chief Director: External Relations and Communications at Infrastructure South Africa; Pius Gumbi, BEPA Co-Founder and Director; and Mameetse Masemola as Guest of Honour.

A key highlight of the evening was the address by Adv. Melanchton Makobe, which centred on strengthening infrastructure delivery and coordination. The engagement provided an important platform for reflection, dialogue, and collaboration among senior infrastructure professionals, partners, and stakeholders, reinforcing the shared responsibility to work collectively towards a more integrated and resilient infrastructure system.
